Die Cut/Punch Art Tutorial

Ready for a fun quick tutorial?! Then read on!

A HUGE theme in M's room is elephants. I've loved them since I was a little girl, and since finding out we were having our own girl, anything and everything elephant I had wanted to have. Since our checkbook was taking hit after hit with baby items I just had to have, I decided to try and make my own cute elephant decor items for her room. When I came across Martha Stewart's elephant punch, I knew I had to have it! Punches aren't the cheapest item, but I waited till I had a coupon and ran to the store to purchase it (got the butterfly one as a gift).
Using scraps of scrapbooking paper I had from making M's name banner (which I need to post, ha!), I punched out elephants. I then arranged them in lines on white cardstock, moving the colored little elephants around until I found an arrangement I liked. I then glued them down. As you can see to break it up I added the hearts in the mix, also die cuts I made using another punch. I framed it in an 8x10, and wahlah!
LOVE how it turned out!
I used the same concept except with my butterfly punch, and scrapbooking paper that would match my kitchen decor and came up with the beauty below. I love the simplicity of this project! And again the possibilities are endless! Free hand your shapes if you can't find a punch you like. I love using the punches, because it makes it quick and allows me to use scraps I just couldn't part with. Anyone else a paper hoarder (wink wink).
As always, we would love to see your creations!! Feel free to send us your projects, and link back to us. Happy Creating!
