Have you seen the movie "You've Got Mail?" It's all sorts of fabulous and I can watch it over and over again!! There's a line in the movie, "If I knew your name and number, I'd send you a bouquet of sharpened pencils." I love Fall just as much as the characters in the movie do! When B came up with the awesome idea of having a Back to School week-long event here on our blog-o, I was thrilled!! I knew exactly what I wanted to make and share with all of you. Read on awesome readers!!
Supplies:
Clear Container
One pack alphabet magnets
Candy of choice (taffy for me!)
Pencils
Pencil Sharpener (wink)
Flowers
Brads
Adhesive
Line the bottom of your clear container with your alphabet magnets, I like mine to all face outward.
That leaves a space in the middle, fill that space with taffy plus add one layer of taffy on top of that.
This is what my vase looked like after a couple layers of magnets and taffy.
Keep alternating your magnets and taffy, till your container is full.
Next sharpen your pencils and stick them into your container. I just moved them around until I liked the arrangement.
For my flowers I stacked two on top of each other, and connected them using a silver brad.
I adhered the flowers to the pencil erasers with glue dots, and wrapped twine around my vase.
To personalize it I added a chipboard monogram for the teacher's last name.
Fun, easy, quick, and cheap!! My kind of project (wink wink). I hope this was helpful to you! What are some of your favorite teacher appreciation gifts?? Shoot us an email at jandmseyecandy@hotmail.com, or leave a comment. We would love to hear and feature you!!
