{Speak Now} A Link Up Party for a Great Cause

Happy Friday lovely friends!!

I am SO honored to be a Speak Now representative!

Today {we} are hosting a link up PARTAY to help spread the word about this great organization, and to share what we hope to accomplish.

Gift Jar (FABULOUS Father's Day Idea)

I have my lovely friend Jennifer from Delightful Deets sharing a fun, DELICIOUS idea today! Take it away Jen!!

We used this idea for Father's Day last year, but I think you could do it for anyone, anytime! They are yummy!

So the jar is simple...

I asked my little boy a bunch of questions about his daddy and typed out exactly what he told me {out of the mouths of babes style}

Then I typed off some things from L to her daddy about how he's her favorite guy, etc.

I put in there some favorite quotes, favorite songs, words of encouragement,

and

let's be honest, I love to make my husband blush so some sweet love notes might be in there also.

Mr. J works a lot so I bet he will be excited when he gets to open a note a day to be reminded of the little ones that adore him at home.

Mints or gum on the bottom and it's one fresh treat!

For the cookies, you need (recipe from Betty Crocker): 1 pouch Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened 1/4-1/2 tsp mint extract {I use 1/2} 6-8 drops green food color {I use 8} 1 egg 1 cup creme de menthe baking chips 1 cup semisweet chocolate chunks {I use milk chocolate Guittard} Mix cookie mix, butter, extract, food color, and egg in bowl, until becomes soft. Stir in creme de menthe chips and chocolate chips. Roll 'em up and put them on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Cool about 3 minutes, then put on wire rack. Easy and unique! I will be making them for St Patrick's Day also, it's not common to see a green cookie!

If you're like me and can't find creme de menthe chips at any store {weird, I know}have fun cutting them up!

There's easily more than a month of notes and mints in the jar. It's a thoughtful, cheap, sweet gift. Covers all the basics! Thanks Kristine for letting me take over for the day!

We celebrated my Momma's bday on Friday! She came and spent the night at our house. Lots of playing, and of course eating good food.

Maggie insisted we decorate for Lola's party and had Daddy assist her

Saturday afternoon out at Gunlock to visit with Gpa and Gma

Saturday night we went to my Mom's and grilled steaks all together, then on Sunday we did the same thing all together, but at Nate's parents house.

Unfortunately ~~Luckily~~ for you I forgot my camera. #truesadstory I can see your shocked faces thru the screen. Anywhoo thank goodness for camera phones, I captured some of the awesome-ness this weekend. Excuse the blurriness. And if you already follow me on Instagram, then sorry for the duplicates.

Thank goodness for modern meds too, which kept all our blaring fevers in check! And allowed the girls to play and even sleep.

We are now back home ready to kick all this sickness in the bum! Nate and Maggie are about 75% back to "normal" but now Miss Mia is battling the nasty cold. Hoping it leaves asap! #fingerscrossed
